Abstract

The article considers factors affecting the socio-economic development of Russia. The assessment of Russia's competitiveness in the Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 system is given. The contribution of various sectors in terms of economic indicators, such as the gross domestic product and its average annual growth, the indicator of information and communication technologies and the innovative component of development, is considered. The arguments in favor of the development of the manufacturing industry are presented. Measures are proposed for structural adjustment, demonopolization of the economy, and the fight against corruption while reducing the taxation of small businesses. The author focuses on increasing real incomes of citizens and restoring citizens' trust for reforms against the background of low inflation and an increase in the number of jobs.
