Abstract

The article examines the food security of the regions in the aspect of the economic security of Russia. The theoretical approaches to food security of Russian authors and international organizations (FAO, World Bank) systematized. The levels and approaches to food security of the regions investigated in compar-ison with the international and national levels. The elements of food security at the country level identified in order to highlight the regional dimension. The factors (drivers) and their impact on the food system identified, which can be interpreted both at the national and regional levels, together making up a conceptual character-istic of the state's food security. The creation of a coordinated policy at the level of regions and the country as a whole is proposed.
