Abstract
After the energy crisis of 2020–2021 caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the global gas market
was again influenced by unfavorable conditions, now due to an unprecedented geopolitical conflict and the growing
global economic crisis. In order to increase the volume of gas supplies to the domestic market, diversify the ways
and directions of natural gas transportation, and fulfill export contracts, it is necessary to develop and update the
Russian gas transportation system.
The article presents an analysis of this system. The spatial zonal organization of the gas transportation infrastructure
is determined, the characteristics of the resource base of each of the zones are given. The assessment
of the state of export gas transportation corridors in the new geopolitical conditions has been carried out. The
conclusion is made about the need to transform the economic model of sustainable development of the Russian
