Abstract
The article presents a comparative analysis of approaches and methods of state project management
in foreign countries in order to identify positive results in state management based on the project approach,
taking in to account the similarity of conditions for the introduction of the same techniques to obtain effective practices
in the Russian Federation.
The author has revealed that the conditions for the functioning of state activities are different, which is based
on the implementation of specific goals and objectives to increase the welfare of the population, as a result of which
states mainly develop their own methodologies, more or less rely on external professional organizations, such as
IPMA and PMI. The Russian Federation will have to develop its own unique methodology based on international
standards to improve the effectiveness of the country's strategic development management.
