Abstract

The article examines and studies the essence and significance of public goods, which play an important role in the economy of any state. The problem of the free rider, well-known in the economic literature, is touched upon, since the modern world continues to struggle with a group of unscrupulous “free riders” who are trying to enjoy all the benefits without participating in the production of public goods, i.e. they are consumers at the expense of conscientious citizens.
