Abstract

Present article is devoted to the study of the possible connection between the participation of a disabled person in labor market and the self-employment expansion in Russian economy. As a result of the analysis, a significant strong positive correlation between the number of self-employed and the level of employment of disabled people was found. Self-employment opens up new opportunities for the inclusion of disabled people in the Russian labor market, although it does not solve the problem of low income for citizens of this group. To be more effective in stimulating self-employment for disabled people, it is necessary to determine the possibilities of organizing self-employment in areas acceptable and optimally suitable for this specific group. Mentoring is one of the most popular forms of support in terms of stimulating entrepreneurial activity.
