Abstract
The relevance of the scientific problem under consideration is determined by the fact that managing the sustainable development of an organization is one of the most important economic problems in conditions of an unstable external and internal environment of its functioning. This problem is of particular importance in the agricultural sector as the industry most susceptible to the influence of environmental factors. The article reveals the essence of the categories «economic sustainability of an organization» and «strategy for sustainable development of an enterprise», identifies approaches to classifying the types of economic sustainability of an organization, and provides the stages of analyzing the level of economic sustainability of an enterprise and choosing strategic directions for its development. An economic sustainability analysis was carried out for one of the agricultural enterprises in the Rostov region, based on the results of which a sustainability zone was determined and a strategy for its development was selected. The economic efficiency of the implementation of the proposed strategic measures for the development of this enterprise is substantiated, the result of which was an increase in the level of its economic sustainability from the position of an unstable state to reaching a zone of normal economic sustainability.
