Abstract

The purpose of the article is to determine the actual role of small and medium-sized enterprises in innovation, as well as in identifying the main problems and in the conditions of development and implementation of innovations, as well as in proposing possible solutions to the existing problems.
The experience of developed countries shows that the main share of innovative and innovative activities falls on the segment of small and medium-sized businesses. The distribution of innovations has the widest range of activities. They can be generated both in organizational and managerial areas, as well as in the areas of technological production of a product. Innovations are introduced on the basis of accumulated scientific knowledge and lead to an overall improvement in the results of economic activity.
