Abstract
Changes in the economic and socio-political situation in recent years have caused a number
of transformations in the Russian labor market. One of the important problems of the Russian society is the
informal employment of the population in the labor force of the country. The article considers the impact of
informal employment on the economic security of the country, determines the socio-economic consequences,
including, first of all, a significant reduction in social guarantees for the population, reduction of the tax base for
the state. Also, it is closely related to the deficit of decent work and quality jobs, low level of labor productivity,
discrimination and social exclusion, unstable and vulnerable position of the population in the labor market.
Diagnosis of the sphere of informal employment opens up opportunities to provide the most comprehensive
and effective formation and development of the system of counteraction to informal employment in the
regional labor market, as well as to level existing threats to economic security. The conducted research has
shown that in recent years there has been a noticeable negative dynamics in the field of informal employment,
which, despite the regular decline, continues to maintain its value at a level exceeding the threshold indicators.
The article stipulates the need to create favorable conditions for reducing the number of informally employed
citizens, proposes a set of measures aimed at reducing the impact of informal employment on the
economic security of the region.
