Abstract
The main purpose of finance is to satisfy the needs of the state and enterprises in cash with the help of monetary income and funds, while exercising strict control over their spending. The article examines the features and functions inherent in finance, and the categories with which finance is in active interaction. It is indicated that the role of finance in a market economy is identified by its dominant position among many other cost and distribution categories, the ability to influence all stages of the economic process, since they ensure the turnover of production assets, scientific and technical achievements, and various social needs; coordinate the territorial and sectoral structure of the market economy; stimulate investment activity.
