Abstract
In the world of economics, the key rate is one of the most important tools used by central banks to regulate money turnover in the country. In the Russian Federation, raising the key rate is an event that attracts the attention of economists, financiers and the public, as it directly affects financial markets, credit conditions and inflation. The last time the key rate was raised in the Russian Federation was as a result of the tightening of global economic conditions and the exit from the crisis situation. This is causing a lot of debate about what consequences this could have for citizens, businesses and banks. In this article, we will look at the reasons for raising the key interest rate in Russia, its possible consequences and prospects for the development of the country’s financial sector.
