Results. The results of the market research revealed an extremely high and high degree of dependence of Russian industrial enterprises on the use of sub-sanctioned import products necessary for the implementation of the import substitution strategy, which in the aggregate amounted to 76% of the total number of all economic entities by the end of 2023. The degree of dependence on the use of sub-sanctioned import products increases in comparison with 2022. It should be noted that the results of the marketing research revealed a high and medium degree of need of Russian industrial enterprises in domestic import-substituting analogues comparable to foreign products: 75% of the total number of economic entities by the end of 2023. At the same time, 68.75% of Russian industrial enterprises have a high and medium level of potential for the production of import-substituting products. Therefore, the acceleration of import substitution processes is necessary. The formation of significant economic and technological power of the Russian Federation under sanctions in order to implement the import substitution strategy depends on the organisation of effective trade interaction with friendly states that are members of the integration associations of BRICS, SCO, APEC countries and on the organisation of effective trade interaction with the border territories of the People’s Republic of China.
