Abstract
To achieve sustainable development of society, a transition to sustainable development at
the level of individual business units is necessary, which means focusing on the effective management of
the main objects (process, products, personnel) at the enterprise and various aspects of its activities. This
circumstance necessitates the application of current quality management methods, as an integral part of the
management methodology. The purpose of the study is to determine the role, the need to use and an algorithm
for applying quality management methods in the process of sustainable development of an enterprise.
The article provides guidelines for using the quality function deployment (QFD method) in combination
with the Pearson chi-square (χ2) test. The information base of the research was made up of scientific works of
leading scientists in the field of sustainable development, enterprise management, quality management. The
study used such specialized software products as Ramus Educational и Microsoft Visio.
As a result of the application of the QFD method and the construction of the Quality House, the main
technical characteristics of the products have been determined that meet the needs of consumers and the
current requirements of the market. Using the quality function deployment method will allow an enterprise
to effectively organize innovative activities, improve the economic and social aspects of its activities. Taken
together, the above made it possible to determine the necessary directions for the sustainable development
of the enterprise, which will serve to increase the level of sustainable development of the region, the national
economy and society as a whole.
The developed recommendations for the application of quality management methods will contribute to
more effective management of the enterprise’s innovative activities, the rational use of resources, the formation
of mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders (consumers, suppliers), which will increase the
level of sustainable development of enterprises and, as a result, the sustainable development of society. The
research results can be used by enterprises and organizations in various fields of activity.
