Abstract
The article discusses the concept of a carbon-free economy and its impact on energy security. The authors examine the role of stakeholders such as environmental organizations, civic initiatives, and industrial companies in promoting carbon-free energy. Particular attention is paid to the problem of false promotion of low-carbon production and energy, as well as the threat of the country lagging behind global trends in this area. The authors consider various aspects of the zero-carbon economy, such as the use of renewable energy sources, the development of technologies for capturing and utilizing carbon dioxide, as well as the transition to resource conservation and circular energy. The article also discusses barriers to the transition to a zero-carbon economy, such as insufficient technology development, high investment costs and resistance from some stakeholders. The authors conclude that for a successful transition to a zero-carbon economy, active cooperation between various stakeholders, development and implementation of comprehensive strategies and measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing energy efficiency.
