Abstract

The authors of the article conduct research on the use of unmanned aircraft systems in various fields and sectors of the economy. The development of unmanned aircraft systems is receiving increased attention. In January 2024, the Russian Federation launched a new national project “Unmanned Aircraft Systems”, which proves the importance of research in this direction. The national project contains a developed strategy for the development of an unmanned aircraft system for the period up to 2030-2035, and it determined the creation of a promising industry for the development of civil drones.
Based on the results of the study, it concluded that UAS are actively use to solve issues related to economic, social and environmental and other civil problems. However, at the same time, the authors of the article highlight a number of problems that require theoretical and practical solutions. Issues related to the legal regulation of the use of unmanned aircraft systems remain unresolved. There are also virtually no studies assessing the effectiveness of using unmanned aircraft systems in areas and sectors of the economy. A separate task is to study issues of generating demand and stimulating supply for the development and implementation of unmanned aircraft systems. More research should be conduct to develop solutions to problematic issues.
