Abstract

The purpose of this article is to develop methods to improve the socio-economic efficiency of the functioning of the St. Petersburg Metro.
To realise this goal, the following tasks have been implemented: The current state of the St. Petersburg Metro was analysed, using SWOT-analysis; methods of increasing socio-economic efficiency offered by modern authors were sorted out, and proposals for methods of increasing socio-economic efficiency of the functioning of the St. Petersburg Metro were formed.
The research included SWOT-analysis, analysis of statistical data of St. Petersburg metro, analysis of methods of increasing socio-economic efficiency of organisations available in scientific literature.
As the results of the research, the methods of increasing the socio-economic efficiency of organisations, outlined in the study, are formed, taking into account current practices, moreover, a recommendation for their application is given not only at the level of St. Petersburg Metro, but also metros of other developing cities of Russia.
As a conclusion, it is worth noting that at all levels of management St. Petersburg Metro should implement creative ideas and adopt a comprehensive strategy to improve the socio-economic efficiency of its activities, especially taking into account the proposals outlined in this study.
