Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive study of the health resort potential of the Leningrad region. The natural and climatic conditions of the region are analyzed, characterized by temperate continental climate, which creates favorable conditions for year-round health tourism. Special attention is paid to the therapeutic natural factors, including mineral springs and therapeutic muds, which are the basis for the development of health resort treatment. The existing network of sanatorium-resort institutions, their specialization and geographical distribution are considered. The transport accessibility of the region, including a developed network of roads and railroads, as well as proximity to the international airport is studied. The tourist infrastructure, including various accommodation options and leisure facilities, is analyzed. The economic and social impact of the spa industry on the development of the region is assessed, including job creation and improved public health. Problems and prospects for the development of the spa industry in the Leningrad region are identified.
