Abstract
The article analyzes the features of the formation of the infrastructure and development of the
digital currency market in the context of the rapid growth in popularity of cryptocurrencies, their rapid capitalization
and digital changes in the financial market. The author draws attention to the peculiarities of the functioning
of digital currencies, their impact on the global economy and possible risks for potential investors. The
study reveals the topics of the formation and development of the modern crypto market, trading manipulations
and techniques used to manage the value of digital currencies in order to profit fraudulently, as well as an
overview of best practices in regulating the circulation of digital currencies and the activities of cryptocurrency
exchanges.
In order to identify the features, the author compares the digital currency market with traditional segments
of the financial market, drawing parallels between the crypto market and the stock market, as well as derivative
markets. Exploring the factors affecting the crypto market, the author identifies a number of mechanisms
for managing the value of circulating assets, including current trading strategies and technical mechanisms
for manipulating digital currencies. First of all, the falsification of trading volumes, the dissemination of false
information and the use of social media in order to organize and coordinate the actions of manipulators, as
well as psychological factors contributing to manipulation by participants in the crypto market.
The author focuses on information security issues and the need to create effective protection tools for
traders and investors in order to minimize risks and ensure the stability of this sector as a whole. The article
provides the most well-known examples of the use of asset value management methods and fraudulent
schemes in the crypto market. Special attention is paid to the current practice of regulating the circulation of
digital currencies and cryptocurrency exchanges, as well as the current state of this regulation in Russia.
