Abstract
This article provides a review and analysis of the dynamics of commodity and currency indices in countries grouped under BRICS, BRICS+, and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The analysis is based on data on commodity indices reflecting changes in prices of manufactured goods and currency indices measuring the value of the national currency in relation to other currencies. The purpose of the article is to explore the methodology of calculating commodity and currency indices and the fundamental components shaping them. Additionally, it involves conducting a comparative analysis of the dynamics of these indices over different periods. The method includes the selection of a representative basket of goods and services, calculation of weight coefficients, collection of accurate price data, the use of various formulas for index calculation, and consideration of factors such as changes in product quality, seasonality, and geo-demographic differences. The obtained results provide a basis for assessing the impact of internal and external factors on the economic development of the regions and identifying prospects for further research and development in this field.
