Abstract

The article considers economic threats associated with unregulated circulation of cryptocurrencies. The main risks that arise due to the lack of a clear regulatory framework are analyzed. Special attention is paid to potential threats to financial stability, the possibility of using cryptocurrencies for illegal activities, including money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as difficulties in monitoring and controlling transactions. Possible measures to regulate and control cryptocurrency circulation in order to minimize risks and protect the country's eco-nomic security are also discussed.
