Abstract
The article examines the problem of labor migration, which directly affects the indicators of personnel security of the economy of St. Petersburg. The main reasons for the per-sonnel shortage are given, including the demographic crisis, the restructuring of the economic system and changes occurring in the labor migration system.
Based on current statistical data, the employment sector of St. Petersburg and the situation with labor migration are analyzed. The author gives a characteristic of labor migration, presents the argu-ments of employers who are experiencing the need to attract foreign labor. Special attention is paid to the problems of labor migration and the justification for the impossibility of solving the personnel prob-lem of St. Petersburg without making changes to the existing conditions of migration policy.
The article formulates proposals, the implementation of which can contribute to solving problems related to labor migration and increase the effectiveness of solving the personnel prob-lem with the participation of labor migrants.
