Abstract
The article examines the impact of unemployment on the level of criminal activity using statistical data and economic and sociological approaches. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the relationship between the growth of unemployment and changes in the level of various types of crimes, such as theft, robbery and violent offenses. The study reveals how economic and social factors increase criminal tendencies during periods of economic instability. Based on the obtained results, recommenda-tions are proposed to reduce crime through the optimization of social and economic policies.
