Abstract

The article analyzes the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the economic development of developing countries. It examines the contribution of SMEs to job cre-ation, poverty reduction, improvement of social stability and stimulation of economic growth. Attention is paid to the impact of innovation and digital technologies on the development of SMEs, and key factors influencing their performance are analyzed. The problems and challenges faced by SMEs, such as limited access to finance, lack of infrastructure and competitive threats from large corporations, are discussed. The article also offers prospects for further growth of SMEs in developing countries, emphasizing the need for support from the state and international organizations. Finally, recommendations are offered to improve the conditions for the develop-ment of small and medium enterprises and maximize their contribution to sustainable economic development.
