Abstract
In the context of global climate change and the rapid growth of interest in sustainable technologies, electric vehicles are considered as one of the key solutions for reducing the negative impact of transport on the environment. This study aims to comprehensively assess the environmental and economic consequences of using electric vehicles compared to vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines. The paper analyzes the life cycle of vehicles, including production, operation and disposal, taking into account regional differences in the energy mix. It also considers aspects of total cost of ownership, the impact on air quality in cities, as well as socio-political factors that determine the dynamics of the transition to electric transport. The results of the study can be useful for the formation of effective public policy aimed at the development of environmentally sustainable mobility.
