Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of the essence and significance of small business development in the Russian Federation with the identification of its main problems and development prospects. Undoubtedly, the phenomenon of our research plays a very important role in the life of any state, ensuring its economic growth and prosperity. It is no coincidence that most developed countries pay special attention to this sector of economic development, putting it forward as the main priority direction of the state’s domestic policy. In addition, in the course of the study, we also identified the main advantages and disadvantages of small business, and proposed measures that could improve the position of the object of our research in the market economy. Thus, we can confidently say that the topic of our scientific research is very relevant today, in the era of rapid development, digitalization and globalization of the economic system as a whole. After all, the role of small business is great for any country, since it helps to improve various social and economic indicators, reduce unemployment, create new jobs, increase tax revenues to the country’s budget, raise the level of competition between manufacturers according to the criteria of minimum price and best quality on the market, etc. All this once again confirms and increases the importance of small entrepreneurship at the global development level of any country.
