Abstract

The formation of musical art has deep historical roots, and therefore the issues of strengthening national performing schools and traditions are of special relevance. This article traces the process of the cello school formation, both in historical retrospect and in modern conditions. It highlights the names of Western European and Russian musicians who played a significant role in the development of the professional education system in Russia. Particular attention is paid to the creative heritage of Karl Davydov, an outstanding performer and teacher, one of the founders of the Russian cello school. The goal of this article is to consider the process of crystallization of the Russian cello school.
