Abstract
The article is devoted to the creative activity of chamber singer and teacher Zoya Petrovna
Lodiy (1886–1957). Honored Artist of the RSFSR, chamber singer Zoya Lodiy was the greatgranddaughter
of philosopher P. D. Lodiy, granddaughter of opera singer A. P. Lodiy, daughter
of singer P. A. Lodiy and pianist E. M. Lodiy-Eliseeva. She made a significant contribution
to the development of Russian vocal art.
Meanwhile, few people know that the entire creative path of Z. P. Lodiy was marked by the
constant overcoming of herself due to a severe spinal disease that appeared in early childhood.
Despite the importance of Zoya Lodiy in the domestic musical art, her name has been undeservedly
forgotten today. However, for half a century the singer's creativity has not only been an
integral part of the national culture, but she herself set an example of persistent overcoming her
disease, creating unsurpassed examples of high art in the genre of chamber singing.
A special appeal to this topic showed that the life and work of Z. P. Lodiy has achieved
such great results that it can be considered as one of the inspiring examples for young performers
today, including artists with disabilities.
