Abstract

The performance of chamber and instrumental music is currently in its renaissance, as evidenced by the posters of the largest concert halls in Russia. It must be admitted that the period from the 1990s to mid-2010 was marked by a significant decline in interest in chamber music, but in recent years this negative trend has been broken and interest in it has increased considerably — both in performing arts (concerts, competitions, festivals) and in musicology research. In this regard, it becomes relevant to study the features of chamber and ensemble music making in its various aspects. This article is devoted to the "Elegiac Trio" no. XNUMX g-moll by Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninov. The paper discusses the features of artistic work on the Trio, identifies the performing difficulties and challenges arising in the ensemble, along with the search for their possible solutions. It also reveals the main provisions and conditions necessary for successful interaction of musicians in a chamber ensemble, starting from the technical organization of the creative process to its planning and discipline. Attention is also paid to such important aspects as a comfortable psychological climate in the team, ensemble coordination, adaptability and anticipation, which will help performers on their way to achieving high artistic results. The history of the Trio's creation and its first concert performance by the composer himself, violinist D. Crane and cellist A. Brandukov, is briefly covered. The first "Elegiac Trio" g-moll by S. V. Rachmaninov is of high artistic value, and to this day it is widely performed on the concert stage. The novelty of this work lies in the performance analysis of the work, providing practical assistance to performing musicians in their work on the composition.
