Abstract

In the proposed article the author actualizes the content of the strategic goal of the state educational policy, focused on improving the quality of highest education, namely the creation of conditions for students to assimilate professional experience and values of professional activity, their self-development and self-improvement at the stage of study in highest education. One of the factors contributing to the effectiveness of this process is social education of students as a special form of organization of pedagogical process in highest education.
Purpose. To specify the scientific and practical understanding of social education as a special form of organization of pedagogical process in higher school and the most important component of the conceptual foundations of building the process of professional socialization of future specialists in the social sphere.
Methods. Theoretical – analysis of socio-pedagogical research on the mentioned problem, comparative and interpretative methods; empirical – analysis of the existing experience of social education implementation in educational institutions of higher education of different departmental affiliation, including on the basis of studying the available documentation, as well as observational and diagnostic measures.
Scientific novelty. The materials presented in the article allow to expand the subject field of socio-pedagogical knowledge, to determine the most important grounds for studying and comprehending the problems of social education of future specialists of social sphere, their professional socialization at the stage of highest education.
Practical significance. The author of the article defines specific tasks of social education in the process of professional socialization of future specialists of social sphere at the stage of training in highest school, specifies the possibilities of their solution in the socio-pedagogical context.
