Abstract
In modern conditions of widespread implementation of the distance format of professional education, the urgent problem of applying
it to such a specific field of music education as academic vocals has arisen. Chinese vocal teachers were forced to switch to this format almost
immediately after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in China. However, many of them find it difficult to adapt to the remote format,
lacking the necessary teaching aids, recommendations and other developments. The first step in addressing this problem is to review relevant
research and practice.
Purpose. To reveal the scientific and practical foundations of our study of the problem of using a distance learning format for academic vocal
training for students in China.
Methods. Analysis and synthesis of research results reflected in monographs, scientific articles, dissertations and collections of materials from
international scientific and practical conferences; observation; analysis and synthesis of practical Internet resources.
Results. The features of the distance format of teaching students academic vocals in comparison with the full-time format are revealed, and
the main scientific and methodological approaches to the use of the distance format in professional vocal education of students in China
are revealed. The advantages of the distance format in teaching academic vocals are that it allows you to significantly expand the number of
foreign students studying at Chinese universities and colleges, attract great modern vocalists from different countries to teach vocals, and use
modern digital educational platforms and technologies. At the same time, the “core” of the content of teaching academic vocals in distance
and full-time formats remains identical, based on the integration of traditions and modern national and international achievements and
trends in vocal pedagogy.
Scientific novelty. Insufficient scientific development of the problem of using a distance format in teaching vocals to students of Chinese
universities and colleges has been revealed.
Practical significance. The advantages of the distance learning format for vocals and some difficulties of its practical application are revealed.
