Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the formation of professional attention by means of controlling the cognitive functions of students in the process of learning classical dance.
The relevance of the issues raised by the author is due to the insufficiency of their elaboration in the subject area under study. The analysis of numerous works containing the theoretical foundations of teaching classical dance has shown that issues related to the management of students’ attention are considered exclusively from the point of view of its (management) necessity. A methodological guide describing the technology of showing movements by a classical dance teacher with these instructions is a textbook for higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of art and culture “Classical Dance. The School of Male Performance” N.I. Tarasov. However, the technology, methods and techniques of student attention management are not considered in these works.
The purpose of this article is to consider issues related to the disclosure of the essential characteristics of the learning process of classical dance. Taking into account the priority of the implementation of visualization functions in the process of formation and development of students’ motor skills, the author also addresses the issues of the classical dance learning process as a sequence of implemented functions, starting from cognitive to analytical and operational, monitoring and correcting motor actions.
In the process of work, the author used such methods of theoretical knowledge as analysis and synthesis of empirical material, construction of analogies, logical methods for establishing cause-effect relationships, etc.
The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the issues of identifying pedagogical conditions for the formation of professional attention by means of controlling the cognitive functions of students in the process of learning classical dance are the subject of special research.
The theoretical and practical significance of the research consists in bringing the theoretical analysis of the issues of the classical dance teaching process in the context of the formation of motor skills to specific recommendations with the definition of pedagogical and methodological conditions that contribute to improving the effectiveness of the process of professional attention formation by means of controlling the cognitive functions of students.
