Abstract

The article provides information about the ixodofauna and the features of the formation of biotopes of ixodid ticks in urban areas. In the Central Administrative District of Moscow, there are biotopes of ixodid ticks. Tick attacks are recorded even in poorly green areas. Ticks are transferred to the studied area by dogs that are taken to the forest parks of Moscow and outside the city, as well as, probably, birds and stray animals.
The ixodofauna of the center of Moscow is represented exclusively by ticks of the genus Dermacentor, and the species D. reticulatus (= pictus) slightly prevails over the species D. marginatus (52,8 and 47,2% of the total number of collected ticks, respectively).
