Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the quality and safety of feed of domestic and foreign production for sports horses. Organoleptic, microbiological, toxic-biological and physico-chemical indicators of various specialized have been studied. On the territory of the Russian Federation there is no specific regulatory document that would confirm the sanitary safety of these feeds. Existing GOST R 54492-2011 "Compound feed for horses. General technical conditions ”and GOST R 52812-2007“ Feed mixtures. Technical conditions ”cannot be applied to imported feed. Many years of scientific research into the physiology and digestion of horses has led to the development of various general and specific feeds. Today, the state and prospects of the Russian feed market are approaching the level of import production. In the domestic feed industry, production of full-feed compound feeds and premixes for horses has not been established, so most often private owners and horse breeders give preference to imported feeds, considering them the best. The results obtained allow us to conclude that domestic feed is not inferior to imported feed in terms of safety and biological value. Moreover, when examining feeds for the presence of antibiotics, it was shown that they are more common in imported feeds. This is most likely due to the desire to maintain the quality of feed during transportation and increase the shelf life.
