Abstract

The article proposes a new method of adaptive median filtering of impulse noise in images. The method is based on the combined use of iterative image processing with a median filter with post-processing of the result based on fuzzy logic. The experimental part of the article is devoted to the analysis of the quality of the proposed method. The simulation results showed that the proposed method shows the best processing result in all considered cases, in comparison with the known approaches. The results obtained in the article can find wide practical application in processing satellite and medical images, geophysical data and other digital image processing applications.
