Abstract
The fuzzy nature of symptoms (including visual images), representations and assessments is a characteristic feature of the world picture, in particular, of the patient and the physician. Fuzzy features can be represented by granules, allowing express both pointwise changes and complex characteristics; some of them can be metaconcepts. In combination with the expert certainty factors for linguistic and imagebased attributes granularity can enhance the efficiency of intelligent systems implemented in a fuzzy medical environment
