Abstract
Big Data and Business Intelligence are modern trends that transform
the information infrastructure of companies. The last 15
years have seen a huge increase in the global amount of data.
The information flows passing through companies consist of a
huge amount of structured and unstructured data. If approaches
to collecting, storing and processing data do not evolve, then a
significant part of the information that can significantly increase
the efficiency of management decisions will be lost.
The article discusses the concepts of "business analytics" and
"big data", presents the approaches of various authors to their
definition. A comparative analysis of the categories of business intelligence "and" big data "is given in terms of the purposes of
use in companies, components of the ecosystem, tools used,
characteristics and benefits of implementation.
