Abstract

The article talks about the main directions of state regulation of small business in the housing and communal sector in modern conditions. The lack of the necessary economic and legal support for small businesses hinders the further development of the country's housing and communal services, which makes it extremely difficult to attract investment in this area. Housing, along with other utilities, remains subsidized; its maintenance places a heavy burden on consumers and the budgets of local executive bodies. Departmental monopolism, the low quality of the services provided and inefficient management also determine the need for reforming the housing sector by demonopolizing it, actively involving small businesses, switching to break-even mode and focusing on improving the quality of work and services provided to residents of apartment buildings. In this regard, the state legislatively establishes requirements for the technical and sanitary condition, sustainable functioning, proper operation and maintenance of the existing housing stock, its engineering and communal provision.
