Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of the impact of state financial support of small and medium-sized enterprises on the development of this segment of entrepreneurship in Russian regions. To achieve the goal of the study, an assessment was made of the aggregate development index and the volume of state financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, based on the construction of contingency tables, the effectiveness of financial instruments of state policy was assessed. In the process of the study, statistical methods, mathematical methods for the integral assessment of indicators, and causal analysis methods were used. The results of the study showed low effectiveness of financial support at the expense of budget funds of small and medium-sized enterprises, conclusions are made about promising areas of research in the field of measures and instruments of state policy to support entrepreneurship.
