Abstract
The article outlines the role of pension provision in the social policy of the state, examines the current state of pension provision in the Re-public of Dagestan, highlights the main problems of the pension system in the Russian Federation and suggests directions for its reform. Despite the ongoing pension reforms in the country, the main tasks of improving the pension system have not yet been resolved. To date, the balance and long-term financial stability of this system, a decent amount of pension payments are not fully ensured. The pension system should be transparent and understandable for citizens, and de-cisions made by the state should inspire confidence in the population.
