Abstract

The article examines the chronology of changes in the methods of industrial and household waste control in Japan since the 20th century, de-scribes the cause-and-effect relationships that explain the transformation of so-ciety's views on this problem. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the key events in this area that confirm the qualitative transition of Japan to an eco-friendly material cycle society.
