Abstract

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a regional intergovernmental international organisation, consisting of eight states. SCO is of interest to international community, political scientists and economists who are researching it the context of fast-paced international relations. The purpose of this article is to study the history of formation of the organisation and its further development. This topic is high on the today’s agenda and is of current interest. It’s so because in our globalisation environment with strong economic, political, trade and military ties the formation of stable international organisations is of paramount importance. The investigation into practice and history of formation is beneficial for understanding the necessity of the SCO and trend of its further development.
