Abstract

The coronavirus infection of 2019 (COVID-19) had a negative impact on the development of all sectors of the economy, including tourism, which turned out to be one of the most affected. The article analyzes the consequences of the impact of the pandemic on the development of the tourism industry in Russia in general and in the North Caucasus Federal District in particular. It also considers the measures taken by the government to maintain the stability of the development of this industry in the current situation. The projects aimed at maintaining and developing the tourism cluster in the North Caucasus Federal District are considered.
