Abstract
In the modern world, the aggravation of a number of global problems is noticeable, among which the problem of environmental protection occupies a special place. The development of scientific and technological progress leads to environmental problems, such as an increase in harmful emissions into the atmosphere, the growth of domestic and industrial waste, pollution of water sources (rivers, lakes, seas) with industrial and domestic wastewater and polymer waste, the accumulation of radioactive waste and toxic substances. The aim of the work is to consider the state of the environment and global environmental problems of our time, to study the main directions of environmental and economic policy on the example of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
