Abstract

In the article questions of definition of biometric personal data, organizations of all possible interactions with them through analysis of legislation and regulatory legal acts of the executive authorities of the Russian Federation are considered. The possibility of improving the Unified Biometric System is singled out for increase the efficiency of banking operations. Emphasis is placed on the balance between human rights and freedoms and public security in the collection, storage and usage biometric personal data. A number of consumer risks in identifying person and measures that will facilitate minimization of security risks of biometric personal data are pointed out. It is concluded that the sphere of biometric personal data should develop qualitatively with the assistance of not only state bodies authorities, but also individuals and legal persons, as it is unavoidable for biometric personal data to be implemented in all spheres of public life.
