Abstract

The article discusses a range of issues covering the cooperation of the two Caspian states – Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. The aspects of interaction between the two countries in the sphere of economy are being studied. The role of the Caspian Sea is emphasized as a sea of peace and friendship, which is currently an important link in transport corridors. Based on the analysis of a number of sources, the role of trade relations in the history of Turkmen-Russian relations is shown. Considerable attention is paid to the study of topical areas of interstate economic cooperation (transport and communications, fuel and energy, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, the introduction of advanced technologies) at the present stage. The study also highlights the importance of bilateral economic partnership in further strengthening and expanding Turkmen-Russian interstate ties.
