Abstract

The article examines the theoretical concepts of market economy models regarding the role of the state in ensuring more sustainable economic development, as well as the transformation of the structure of the region’s economy, which is impossible without an influx of investments and ensuring the availability of financial resources.
There is a growing general understanding in the Kyrgyz Republic that striving for economic growth without sufficient attention to other social tasks is not enough for the prosperity and development of society in a human and environmental sense. Contrary to popular belief, the Government can play an important role in regulating the market economy and invest in human resource development.
For countries with economies in transition, too far-reaching measures to eliminate the public assistance system in order to increase the competitiveness of the economy are likely to lead to poor results, further weakening the nation-State.
