Abstract
The author examines the structure and development of the economy of modern Russia. The modern structure of the Russian economy is characterized by diversification of sectors, aspiration for modernization and strengthening of competitiveness in the world arena. Innovative activity of Russian enterprises can bring significant benefits in the form of growth of market share, increase of profits, strengthening of competitive position and satisfaction of customers’ needs, but requires constant attention and investments.
