Abstract
The author examines the problems of development of scientific and technological progress (STP) at the enterprise. STP is a continuous process of development of science, engineering and technology, improvement of objects of labor and production methods. It plays an important role in intensification of industrial production regardless of its form. Each stage has its own characteristics in the form of certain tasks, approaches to their solution, level of training of participants, necessary resources and organizational forms. Such specificity determines the goals and methods of forecasting and choice of solutions. STP develops within the framework of the innovation cycle, which includes creation, implementation, use and obsolescence of innovations.
