Abstract

The purpose of the work is to study the history of the formation of handball. The paper examines the key stages of the development of handball, starting from its origin and ending with the modern achievements of Russian athletes in the international arena. The author examines both international and domestic influences on the development of this sport, which helps to better understand the context and circumstances under which handball became popular in Russia.
The work contains a definition of handball as a sport, which is an important element for understanding its specifics. The author focuses on the fact that handball promotes the harmonious development of personality, explaining this by the specifics of the game and its impact on the physical condition of those involved. This is important both for understanding the social significance of handball and for popularizing this sport among young people.
