Abstract
The article discusses approaches to the formation of financial literacy, methods for assessing financial literacy for schoolchildren in grades 9–11, areas of financial literacy assessment in PISA research and the feasibility of using Olympiads as an effective method for assessing the level of financial literacy in school. As an example, the Regional Olympiad “ВайFinansy” on financial literacy among schoolchildren in grades 9–11, which is held by the Department of Economics and Management in Chechen State Pedagogical University is considered.
